Rio Lines:
WindCutterll® Spey
Improved for 2009

The original spey line, frequently imitated, never bettered. For 2009 the line features RIO’s XS Technology™ for an extraordinarily slick, dirt-repelling coating. It has an easy loading head between 45 ft (13.7 m) – 56 ft (17.1 m) (depending on the size) and is the most versatile of all spey lines.
The WindCutter II is available in two formats: 1) a full floating line with a welded loop at the front end for attaching RIO’s VersiLeaders to, or 2) a VersiTip line with a body and a selection of 15 ft (4,6 m) tips.
These tips are: floating, clear intermediate (1.5 ips, 4 cm/s), DC Type 3 (3 ips, 8 cm/s), DC Type 6 (6 ips, 15 cm/s) and DC Type 8 (8 ips, 20 cm/s) sinking tip and each tip features RIO’s thin, non-hinging welded loops.
The WWF 5/6 does not include a Type 8 tip. The 4/5 is only available as a floating line. RIO has improved the VersiTip version for 2009 by removing the middle floating tip (Tip 2) that has been a standard in the past.
Sizes: 4/5 (S5), 5/6 (S6), 6/7/8 (S7), 7/8/9 (S8), 8/9/10 (S9), 9/10/11 (S10) & 10/11/12 (S11)
Length: 110 ft - 140 ft (33.5 m - 42.7 m) Color: Yellow with black loading point.
VersiTip: $159.95.
AFS Head
New Color for 2009
The Advanced Flight Spey (AFS) Shooting Head is RIO’s latest line for the spey caster. These heads have a long front taper that ensures the softest of presentation and a design that loads rod up easily, resulting in extremely effortless casts of prodigious distances. They are a joy to cast and incredibly easy to get the feel of.
For the very best in presentation and control attach one of RIO’s Spey VersiLeaders to the front end that have been designed specifically to compliment these lines and one of RIO's highly acclaimed shooting lines to the back end.
The AFS head is available in four different formats:
Each head has RIO’s bullet-proof welded loops in both ends for easy rigging and to attach one of RIO’s VersiLeaders to.

Skagit and Skagit Short
Skagit casting requires a line with a very short, 20-27 ft (6.2-8.3 m), heavy head that will propel heavy sink tips and big flies great distances with a very short casting stroke. Skagit casting is easy for novice or experienced casters to learn and exceptionally useful in situations with tight, restricted back casting space.
Skagit lines have a revolutionary design that is perfect for Skagit casting. Available either as a body only, to which you attach one of RIO’s 15 ft tips, T-8, T-11 or T-14, or as a VersiTip model that comes packaged with a shooting head wallet, a 5 ft cheater and a 15 ft DC Type 6 (6 ips, 15 cm/s) and a DC Type 8 (8 ips, 20 cm/s) sinking tip.
